Announcing the Rest of 2023!

Hello, friends! For the last few months, we’ve been hinting at a number of secret projects. Now, at long last, it’s time to pull back the curtain and introduce you to our plans for 2023. There are a lot of them, so get ready!

The Saberlight Chronicles

Heavy metal fans know the name Fellowship: the English band whose 2022 debut The Saberlight Chroniclestook the power metal world by storm. Their music bears a message that will resonate with cozy fantasy readers: “Taking on the subject of mental health at a time in our lives where we all need a pick-me-up, the album tells a mythical story of self-worth, self-discovery and the quest for courage, all through songs so catchy you’ll be singing along on the very first listen.”

But The Saberlight Chronicles isn’t just a killer album—it’s a book. Wyngraf is very pleased to announce we’re publishing The Saberlight Chronicles, a high fantasy novella by Fellowship singer Matthew Corry and fully illustrated throughout by Cat Jacobelli!

Stay tuned for art drops, a cover reveal, the release date, and more.

July 1st: At the Winding Path’s End

Next up, we’re very pleased to announce At the Winding Path’s End, a collection of cozy fantasy poetry by Stew Shearer, fully illustrated by Carolyn Smith. These twenty-four little celebrations of hearth and backpack are packed with beauty, humor, and heart.

Also July 1st: Submissions for Wyngraf #4

The same day At the Winding Path’s End debuts, we open our fourth reading period! From July 1st through July 7th, we’ll accept short story submissions for Wyngraf #4.

Open July 1st – 7th.

August 1st: The Little Cozy Book

Wyngraf published over 45 cozy fantasy flash fiction stories free on our website, as part of our Friday Flash series. Now we’re celebrating those tales with a print anthology!

The Little Cozy Book contains twenty-seven bite-sized stories of cozy fantasy: our twenty-three favorites from the website, plus four brand-new tales! The anthology features star authors like Hugo winner Cora Buhlert, Hugo finalist Gideon Marcus, Ziggy Schutz, and L Chan, and an original cover by Kirsty Greenwood.

September: Bard City Blues

After a wildly successful Kickstarter, we’re hard at working on the last pieces of Bard City Blues, the first cozy fantasy novel from Wyngraf. September is our target date to have all the Kickstarter copies (paperback and hardcover alike) in the mail, at which point we can release the book to the general public!

September: Wyngraf #4

Our fourth issue is a milestone—not only will it mark two years of publishing, it makes Wyngraf eligible for the Hugo Award for Best Semiprozine. (We’re just sayin’!) We have a few amazing stories in the bag already, and we’re anticipating tons more in July. With glorious cover art by Jenny Mure, this issue is one to watch out for!

December: The Great Elvish Bake Off

The Bard City Blues Kickstarter funded an entire second novel, featuring tons more amazing Cris Puga art. The Great Elvish Bake Off is expected to go out to backers sometime in December, and will then appear online for general sale!
